I need to find someone who will root a grape cutting for me.
I want a VENUS table grape vine, and the only place I have found it is at Lon Rombough's place. He sells only cuttings. I am willing to buy 3 cuttings and give the other 2 to anyone who is willing to root one for me.
I live in Aurora and will travel to anyplace in the Willamette Valley to get this done.

Grapes are not that difficult to root yourself. I have had success (2 out of 3 taking root) by just placing dormant cuttings in regular garden soil and watering all summer long. It helps to use some rooting hormone and using soil-less media, like perlite/peat moss mixture, to prevent weeds, bugs, and fungus. Use a black pot to help warm the soil to speed up growth. Lon has rooting instructions on his website that will help you along.
You need to be careful about transferring rooted grape cuttings. If they are not from certified nursery there is chance of root louse contamination. In Washington state it is illegal to sell uncertified grape plants, I think it's to protect the wine industry from damage.
Burnt Ridge Nursery used to have Venus grapes. I don't see it listed in the catalog this year but you could contact them and see if they could have one for next year or maybe he has a few and didn't include in the catalog. They sell 1 or 2 year rooted grapes by mail order for $4 each.
