I went to see a class at a garden show by a pretty university entomologist and she said that one of the best things that we can do to prevent invasive insects is to have a 3D garden with different heights so that spiders can do their job. Semi-dwarf, dwarf, bush, forb/plant, ground cover varying throughout the yard. We havent' been overrun by anything including stink bugs and SWD. Everytime I get hit in the face by a spider web I say, "That's the cost I have to pay you!"
