I decided to plant 4 sour cherries to accompany my heirloom apples. I'd like to hear from your experiences with sour cherry trees, especially from zones 7 and 8 and with clay soils. I planted 2 Montmorency, one on semi-dwarf, one on dwarf and two dwarf Northstars. Glad to hear from you.

Up here in the Northwest, I have Montmorency and North Star. North Star gets bad bacterial canker every year. Montmorency doesn't have many problems. I prefer montmorency. I love pie cherries. More flavor, smaller tree, self-pollinating, birds dont' steal as much, better health, vitamin A.
