A couple of years ago I discovered a fun seed swap in Venersborg, WA, near Battle Ground. It's small, but it has nice offerings, and people go to a lot of effort. One person specializes in dried beans and supplies dozens of varieties; so I've planted flageolet and goat's eye, among others, for the first time. One year someone brought sunflower seeds, and another donated alder seedlings. Yet another person contributed grafted apple trees (one rootstock even had a Home Orchard Society tag).
It's a cost-free and fun way to try new vegetables and plants, you never know what treasures you'll find!
