I saw this highly educated and interesting discussion on another board and thought it would be of interest. Several people came to my yard this summer specifically to learn how to grow paw paws. I wrote an article a few months back on growing paw paws at home for the Pome News. At this point I am just peeling them.

A really smart guy on another list told me that the people who became sick ate the LEAVES of a similar plant EVERY DAY. That's asking for problems right there. He also mentioned that people have been regularly eating paw paws in the Applachians for centuries with no ill effects.
NOt to worry.
