I have a pear tree that is either a Bartlett or a Keifer (I lost my info card for it) Are either the Keifer or Bartlett a self pollinating fruit tree or do i need to buy another pear tree for it. I bought a Bradford flowering pear, but i don't think it gets fruit.

Daniellle,

Pear trees are not self-fertile and you would need another pear tree of a different variety. Try Bosc, Seckel or Comice. All these produce good fruit and will pollinate your Bartlett or Kieffer.

If it's a bartlett it is at least parially self-fruitful. No other pollinator strictly necessary. My Bartlett does OK setting fruit, but I still think another pear tree in the vicinity would help it out.
