Hey everyone,

I'm in SE PA and have a 4ish year old peach tree that I've noticed some darkness near the trunk and it looks like the bark is coming off. Was looking online, might be collar rot? I tried to attach pictures but apparently the picture is too large...?can anyone help confirm what this is and what I can do to stop it. Thanks!

Re; the photo attaching, here's what finally worked out for me on a mac:

drag a copy of the photo to the desktop to keep track of it. Open that one, click the markup button to show the markup toolbar. From the toolbar I can select an 'adjust size'  button. There in the height and width boxes; I delete the last (1's) digit.... close the picture. That's been good enough to get within specs to be able to post, with enough detail to get the point across.

When you go to select your photo(s) for attaching, the copy on the desktop that you've altered is easy to find.

Your pictures might/will be instructive to those who have more experience with growing peaches than I.

Well James you sure got that looking pretty easy with a mac compared to windows. The windows trick that gives you the same kind of streamlining is best explained up to #25 in the following.

using the copy-paste and paint program in windows using the all important .jpg extension for analog camera pictures

So the only worry is to have a reduced copy of the picture inside a photo-frame of the right size on the desktop first.
