By all means, may I not be the only one to advertise for this event on this forum or be the only thread on the subject.....please post again....but I am going to help remind people that this is less than a month away.....and it should be great.

http://www.homeorchardsociety.org/event ... ting-2014/

Sam Benowitz and Susan Dolan are not strangers to me here in Seattle.....but many of the other speakers.....and some of the people in the HOS are people I have not met yet as I have still as of yet not been to any HOS events.

Be assured: There are some people here in Seattle who are looking forward to coming down soon and I am one of them.

I am thinking of coming to the Saturday event. A family camping trip rules out most of the events, but I look forward to meeting you Don, and many others on Saturday.

I'm really looking forward to the all-day Wednesday speakers. It will be interesting to see what each can pack into the short time allotted to them.

John, hopefully I'll see you on Saturday.

I may have mistaken the budding workshop for the NAFEX Saturday. I will be at the budding workshop, I hope to be at the NAFEX Saturday.

I talked to Joanie Cooper, the pres about the NAFEX /HOS/California Rare Fruit Growers meeting on Saturday at the arboretum at 11:00 and she said there will be probably more than 100 people there! I think I'm going.

sorry John....I was there Wed and Thurs but thought I had work in Seattle and so I missed Saturday in Portland.......I guess there may have been a desire to not necessarily continue the advertising because only a certain number of people could fit into the banquet hall at any one time.
Many many excellent speakers....my first impression of McEnamins Edgefield was to have been rather intrigued by the place.......also, there is nothing like meeting people in person at events like these....I found Joanie to be as gracious in person as I suspected....and Nick Botner to be a remarkably unassuming man (considering what he has done)..... a tribute too, for the tour guide we had on Wednesday on bus #2...I think he was Marilyn Couture's son....like I said, lots of knowledgeable people and I was quite content to just take a back seat and not say a whole lot while surrounded by such expertise.

We look forward to seeing Shaun Shepherd here in the Seattle area on Sept. 13th for our Piper Orchard fest as we talk about apple identification.

I had heard that some of the speakers will be on the HOS website....if that happens, please let me know....or post here.
I know that I can get YouTube websites for Dr. Lee Reich and for Susan Dolan.
Also, Amigo Bob http://www.felixgillet.org and Joannie Cooper's http://www.TemperateOrchardCon.....rvancy.org

If anyone wants the Reich website, let me know.

Hi Don,
Sorry I missed you. I would love to hear Lee Reich's site. I have read his books and articles for years about unusual fruit.
Thanks,

Thanks for the podcast link. Lee Reich is great. I've followed him and his books for years.
