I have gotten conflicting info. Books say that they should grow here. It is well within zone 8 to grow muscadines. Several forums on fruit and wine suggest not to grow them. What I have not see is someone who tried. The local nurseries defiantly sell muscadine. Maybe here it is grows more as an ornamental. We had a vine called Rogers red in California. It gave great fall color and was an easy keeper, the fruit was tiny and sour though. An inputs would be helpful and welcome.

I know I planted New York Muscat a few years ago, because I liked the taste. Muscadines are from where it is wet and humid in the summer, the opposite of what we have here. I have seen them many times at the scion exchange/FPF, so they must grow well. I just don't personally remember growing them.
