Hello!
We are purchasing a property with an acre of apples. Just occurred to me as we have had the house inspected, I should look into getting the orchard "inspected". I really would like to know if my trees are good, etc, before buying. Anyone know how to go about this? Who to hire? I've contacted the local Master Gardeners (Dallas, OR) and am waiting to hear back (was directed there and here from Extension Service.)
Thanks!

Thanks, John. I was thinking the same thing prior to reading your response.. In fact I’m doing ‘just that’ this Friday, and lunch with a couple on a new place here in SW VA.
I know Shawn S. has done orchard consulting for commercial cider ventures, but I’m not sure if he has the time… Extension Service agents are good for general advice, though busy this time of year.
