Back in March I got two rootstocks (M-26 and Bud 9) and scion of Honeycrisp and Northern Spy. I put the Northern Spy with the Bud 9 Rootstock and the Honeycrisp with the M-26 Rootstock. The Northern Spy has new buds and leaves on the Scion but the Honeycrisp doesn't.

How do I tell if the Honeycrisp has grafted?

Thanks for your help.

It starts growing. It swells, buds and leafs out like the regular branches.

Check other examples of that species in your area to see when they should leaf out.

I put a honeycrisp on a BUD-9.  It hung for a while but is moving now.  Look closely at the buds to see if they are swelling at all.
