I have a 10 year old Granny Smith Apple tree. About 4 years ago, the leaves would turn yellow and fall off. This has started earlier and earlier. This year, just as the tree greened up, the leaves are already turning yellow. I asked the arborists at the stated agriculture college and after a lot of correspondence, she speculated Apple Rust. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would add as many details as possible.  Is the soil dry or wet? Do other plants get yellow leaves? Other apples? Sun? SHade?

I have apple rust on my apple tree and my neighbor has seen it on his quince tree. Usually you get yellow spots on the leaves. Doesn't seem to affect the crop. I don't see the leaves falling off.

The soil is moist but not wet. There is a red apple tree behind it. It still yields but does get yellow late in the season. Both trees are full sun. The leaves are already gettin yellow. All the leaves will drop olin the next three weeks. The tree will bud again a month later

I would add pictures or take a leaf to a local nursery. It's hard to visualize at this point for me. Maybe someone else can give more help though.
