Could you use an arctic beauty or hardy kiwi to dwarf a fuzzy kiwi?

Has anyone tried this? It would be great to have a less vigorous Hayward.

Also, I've seen reports of people grafting male onto female or female onto male kiwis. I guess you could split the kiwi where it reaches the top of the trellis so that in one direction it is male and another it is female. That way, you could get 1.5 females and .5 males out of two vines?

I have grafted Hayward female onto hardy male. It worked for awhile, but had problems. I did it mainly to see if I could. The next time, I'd probably do it right. I'd graft it to a smaller hardy kiwi rather than one that was already grown up, and I'd put it in full sun. Saanichton didn't work at all. It wouldn't take. I think hardy onto hardy or fuzzy onto fuzzy for pollination purpposes would be easier/more successful.
