THe concept of chopping down trees and burning them as a solution to too much carbon in the atmosphere doesn't make sense. THere are things you could do that might be somewhat similar that could help. If you planted trees, but used something like hemp or bushes that grew fast, and turned some of it into biochar, that could help. It's hard to imagine how they could be thinking burning and chopping down trees would help.
