I'm looking for some first hand information on growing Asian pears in Minnesota. Zone ratings are variable (at best) on many varieties of Asian pears.....has anyone successfully grown them in zone 4a (or 3b)? If so, what variety on which rootstock? Thanks in advance for any input.

I don't have first hand experience but I would look into Don Bae (Korean Giant). Korea's pretty cold. I think there were some guys on garden web fruit and orchards forum who grew them in Nebraska and other cold places.
