Since we're about three weeks early, it's probably ripe about October 1st normally.  It's normal size for a grocery store apple, powerful taste, like a Karmijn da Sonnaville or Belle de Boskoop. 

Any ideas?

I probably got it from the scion exchange. The first one tasted like Karmijn da Sonnaville but the second one tasted like Akane.

So I think the Karmijn like one was Orleans Reinette and I think the second one was Akane.

It's hard to say....there are some many cultivars, and many are very close related...from the photo they seem very tasty 🙂
