We just received 8 in of snow in northern Illinois, and my poor 1 year old apple trees are bowed down under the weight of snow.
I know I shouldn’t shake off the snow, but I’m worried by how much thebranches are bending down. How do I know if it is just snow weight vs branches killed by cold? It’s still below freezing here. Is there anything I can do before wi tee ends, or do I just have to wait and see in spring?
