When my husband and I bought our current house (in the Portland Oregon metro area) we didn't realize that some of the trees in the back yard are fruit trees. There are two persimmon trees, an asian pear (which is fruiting now), and a pluot tree (which is easy to pick as it is only about 6 feet high). I would like information on how to get someone to come in and pick the fruit off of the pear tree and later the persimmons. I also need more information on how to prune and generally care for the trees.
Thanks.

Hi Connie:
My recommendation if you don't get a response here is to post it on Craigslist. You may get a lot of responses! You could even just offer to split the fruit with them and you'd probably get enough responses just from that?
For tree care, I'd definitely attend the Home Orchard Society pruning classes. They're great, cheap, and very informative. I've learned tons each one I've attended.
