Yes, I have read that it is edible with pods similar to a pea. It is supposed to be a nitrogen fixer and good for garden and other trees near by. It is a smaller version of the Siberian Pea Shrub (caragana arborescens), which will grow maybe 12ft tall. The pygmy version is said to grow 3-5ft.
