When to bark graft?

I know on whip and tongue, I can look at the plant and see when it is getting ready to have its green flush, leaf out, etc. Is the timing the same for bark grafting? What do I look for?I have never tried it, but I think I will this year.

You want the bark to be easily peeling, ie slipping.

These are as good as tuturials as any: LINK and LINK

Anytime the tree has a full leaf expanded in spring is probably a very good time to bark graft. Just make sure the bark lifts real easy.
