I visited a farm in Clark country, Washington today, August 30, 2005 and noticed that there were quite a few less common fruits and nuts on the place, figs, American persimmons, hickory nuts, quite a few apple varieties (including a very large Gravenstein tree), etc. The couple that has the farm is young and said the former owner was Magnus "Pete" Peterson. It has been a while, but wasn't there a HOS member by that name? If so, his farm has passed to the right kind of people - they want to plant several acres of juice grapes.
