Hello fellow member of HOS and other fruit enthusiasts:
I am still recruiting volunteers to work at the March 6 Fruit Propagation Fair in Portland at the Washington County fairplex. We are still in need of workers for the afternoon shift (1 to 4 pm). If you can put in a few hours there, please email me asap. I will only have access to my email through Tuesday morning, then will be unavailable for the rest of the week. You get free admission if you work and our gratitude. The afternoon shift is usually pretty relaxed as the busiest time is in the morning. It is a lot of fun, you meet interesting people, and can learn a lot.
Many thanks,
Mary Pfauth

I offered my services and my e-mail address yesterday, and I'm still available for whatever is within my capabilities (which I'm afraid still don't include grafting). Tell me where you need me, and I'll be there. And afternoons are much easier than early shifts for this not-a-morning person.

Hi Mary,
My situation has changed since the board meeting. I worked out a deal with my wife and I will be able to help in the afternoon. I am a competent whip and tongue grafter. I wouldn't have me do any other kind (cleft, bark, etc. ) I can probably do other things too. I will be there about an hour early.
