Long time HOS member and a super person, Nick Botner, has tragically lost his son. It appears he was brutally murdered by police in Mexico - story was in yesterdays Oregonian, been on TV - web is loaded with information.

Nick and his wife Carla do not have email - but we should all send our thoughts and sympathies to them - they are such a special breed of just plain the best type of people.

This is a sad story Dave. I met Sam several times last winter, and from what I know I cannot fathom him giving police a hard time. He was a very gentle man.

Funeral will be Saturday, August 9, at the Assembly of God Church in Yoncalla, 2:00 pm. I plan on attending.
