We at HOS are putting on our annual orchard care seminar, "Think Spring", which will fire us up for the gardening year. I just got a confirmation from Joanie Cooper about the schedule:
I will be starting off with a presentation on
A Sustainable Food Forest-Is a Permaculture Orchard Possible?
at 9am. I will be followed by Jim Oliphant on tricks for growing small fruiting plants in your yard, and third Bruce Nelson (the bug man, teacher at CCC) and 4th slot - a panel of the three of us answering questions. We will give out 3 x 5 cards when folks check in, ask them to write down their gardening-orcharding questions, which Joanie would collect after the first 2 sessions. That way we would have questions to start the last session with.
I saw Jim Oliphant many years ago and I still have some of his old handouts and use and teach many of the techniques he presented more than 10 years ago. I'm sure he has some new ideas also. He works at the National Clonal Germplasm center in Corvallis, and is one of the people in charge of storing small fruits for our nation. I'm also looking forward to learning about insects with Bruce Nelson as each year I learn more about the intricate relations between insects and orchards. I hope to see many of you there.

I think that this is what the page looks like:
