I'd love your feedback on this post. I'm trying to write an article to people who don't know anything about choosing an apple tree. Any suggestions for improvements would be really welcome!

You can dig up young trees in the winter and prune many major roots off, replanting the tree with only its fine roots remaining. This deprives it of stored energy the following spring. Slows down the growth plus brings a scion mounted on seedling rootstock into fruiting in around 3 years as opposed to 7-11 years unmolested.
