I have a potted Saijo sitting in the garage, awaiting transplanting. Being as it was dry and could stay that way for a few days, it seemed like a good time to prune it. There was one crossing branch that had to go. Had a flashback to some posts I read here, and wondered if it was of use to anybody else. It is roughly the diameter of a pencil, and even has some lateral branches. Never having stored a scion, I put it in a plastic bag along with a damp piece of napkin (not touching the wood), and threw it in the refrigerator. My questions - is a branch like that of use, and if so, is that an acceptable way to store it?
