Taming Desert King Figs

We are finally getting a lot of figs again.  Our desert king grew so big that we were missing almost all of the figs.  Finally, this year, we have lots of figs within reach.  I can bend the taller branches, but I can't climb them, since I weigh more than 3 lbs.  This is the blog we patterned our pruning after:
