Sprouting apple branches

Hi, I used some short lengths of pruned apple branches as stakes for my vegetable garden. Much to my surprise, several of the stakes have sprouted leaves. Can I expect a tree to grow from each stake? with fruit eventually?

Only if they form roots, and that might happen 1% of the time.
