I have a few apple trees and a 2500 square foot garden.I've been using a tank sprayer on the garden but this style sprayer won't do the job on standard and semi-dwarf apple trees.
My son bought a used 12V electric,12 gallon tank sprayer last year and is very pleased with it.He reports it will easily reach 25'. It is mounted on a 2-wheel cart that can be hitched to a lawn tractor or pushed by hand. The 12V battery lasts about one and 1/2 hours.
Unfortunately, the sprayer he has is no longer sold.
Does anyone have any recommendations of a similar sprayer for small home orchards ?
If so,I would be grateful for your recommendations/comments,etc.

i think a lot depends on how handy you might be: i have seen parts at local farm stores (here in western oregon) for repairing spray tanks that, taken together and throw in some hoses and little plastic fittings should give you a handy tank spray rig. my neighbor did that, and then mounted it on an old push lawn mower body (sans engine and blades) for toting around his small orchard (similar to your size).

falkenburg is a local oregon brand we use, but i wonder that the farming communities (maybe even the amish? what are they spraying with?) of PA don't support a sprayer manufacturer. i'd poke around on the net, and maybe ask some folks at a rural farm store/hardware store for their ideas.

good luck! oh, and ask at somewhere like a john deere lawn tractor/mower dealership. i don't think they offer one (at least not cheaply) but they might have an idea of local makers too....

I have a Fimco sprayer that my dad gave me. It has a 15 gallon tank and I power it off my lawn tractor. They sell for about $130 at farm stores. My dad used it without the tank. He kept several 2 1/2 gallon jugs with different spray mixtures - weed spray for lawns, round-up, insecticide, etc. Much simpler to rinse and clean a 2 1/2 gallon jug than the 15 gallon tank. You could probably get just the pump, hose, and spray wand at a place like Tractor Supply Company but separately might cost as much as the whole setup.
