i live in northern in. when do i spray dormant oil ?? i have inhereted a small orchard to take care of & i know VERRY little & its been neglected for several years. any help out there? THANKS, D.B.

I was in Indiana yesterday and I noticed how late your Springs are compared to the NW. Everything still looks brown there. I think it would be too late for dormant spray here but maybe not there.

I just moved into a new place with 1/2 dozen fruit trees. They have not been maintained & I was hoping to get advice on how to get started. I believe they are all apple trees, but I may have cherry in there too.

I would make sure the drip line around them was mowed, then covered with thick newspaper and then organic mulch. Then I would think about pruning them. Of course, you need to look at what you have first.
