I need help. My three year old grafted pawpaw (Rebeccas Gold) looks sick with brown dead areas on the edges of its leaves, leaving only a little green live tissue in the center. No obvious critters seen. Another cultivar better shaded and ten feet away is healthy. Is this a deficiency disease, too much sun - its partially shaded - or what? the tree is 30 inches tall.

Can you post a picture, both close up and from afar?

Mine suffers from lack of water in Summer. It's mostly a summer-rain plant.

I'll try to upload the image. Not sure what to do, any advise or instruction on how to do it?

Thanks John - I've used drip irrigation on these trees - perhaps there was blockage on the delivery tube - will check that

Wish I was home with my own machine, rather than at work with a few minutes on my lunch half hour. I think, and the "hover over the button" information also suggests this, that we're posting links to pictures rather than copying them from our hard drives. oldguy, the address of the picture you tried to post was on your hard drive. I think you'll need to upload them to a server somewhere. Almost anyone else who has posted pictures will probably be able to give you more confident advice - I think I've posted one picture on this forum, and I barely remember doing it.

Yeah, old guy,
That's what my leaves looked like. I think they're just too dry. Give them some deep water:Slow and long. They have a taproot.

Hi Old Guy:

Sorry I wasn't able to help with the photo question. We should probably post a "how to" thread and make it sticky, so everyone can know how to do it.

Thanks for all the help. Found the drip irrigation not sufficient so will water deep and often - in a wet spell now as well. Hope the tree will recover.
