Please label your wood
Bring a few extra bags and a marker pen
Best to keep your scionwood slightly damp, 'damp newspaper is perfect, and a lot less messy than sawdust.

I went to one in Seattle a couple of years ago, and then they said they weren't going to have any more. I got some really good scions, but even more impressive were the speakers. I learned a lot. I hope to find a way to get up there. Does anyone know when our HOS scion exchange will be?
Thanks

This exchange at the Federal Way 320th Street Library will not be a extravaganza with big name speakers and all. Just a local trade/swap of cuttings for grafting. The library is about 3 blocks west of the SeaTac Mall on 320th. Everyone is welcome. All that I'm asking, 'and it is not mandatory', is that folks bring something to trade.
Also, if you do bring wood, please label it.
Would be real good if you also bring a marking pen, plastic bags, and some tape to write on since when you grab a cutting , you will want to know what you have when you get home.
Would prefer folks use damp newspaper instead of bringing sawdust to the event. Sawdust is so messy.
I expect to offer at least these varieties of apple:
Canada Griese
Hudson Golden Gem
Suntan
Caville Blanc
Roxburry Russet
Giant colorful NE Puyallup apple "large as Wolf River but better flavor".
Melrose
Winter Banana Pollenator
McIntosh
Dot's Russet excellent pie apple
For Figs:
Desert King
Violet De Bordeaux
Magnolia
Gurneys "Dwarf" black fig
A lot more to come.

If there are a few odd fruit varieties of Scionwood being searched for, please do contact me off list. I have a few friends with large variety collections and if there is a specific interest, I'll try to have it there.
For me the species Ficus and Vitis and Ribes are most interesting.

One more reminder:
The Federal Way Scionwood exchange is this Saturday, February 28th, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Just three blocks west of the Sea Tac Mall and Eight blocks west of the I-5 Corridor, across Hwy 99.
The event is free, but would appreciate folks bringing a few extra bags and marker pens, "not to mention some scionwood to share".
Please no pets.
I'm leaving my beloved Cat at home.
Also have just got a bundle of 'Smokehouse' apple scionwood
Will be some fig and vitis wood too.
Could use a few more Pear Selections if anyone has wood to spare.
