I had someone ask about the Scarlet Beauty apple. Does anyone know whether this is an old variety or one of those new patented varieties not released to the public?

I can usually dig up information, but I am stumped by this one.

According to the Fruit Berry and Nut Inventory it is a Southern apple, and is/was carried by Century Farm Orchards in NC. They specialize(d) in old Southern apples and had 450 varieties per the FBNI. If they carried it or carry it, they would know more. 336-349-5709.
