Hello to you all,
I have read through many of the discussions related to grafting of Nick Botner's apple trees and I understand that at one point the possibility of purchasing the portion of the farm containing the trees might have been proposed. Does anyone have an idea of what it would take to purchase this portion of the farm? Any updates related to aquiring land for the grafted trees?
How great is it that the largest collection of apple trees in the world is located in our state. What a great resource and accomplishment! Please include me in any groups or discussions related to preserving this legacy. I would like to help.
Regards,
Frank Day
The organization attempting to preserve the legacy is called the Temperate Orchard Conservancy. Here is an article mentioning them (it is linked from the Home Orchard Society's Facebook page: [url:3od4l273]http://registerguard.com/rg/news/local/31331088-75/trees-fair-fruit-grafting-root.html.csp[/url:3od4l273]
Land has been secured but there is still a huge amount of work remaining.
