This was an extremely brutal winter that set many records.
My peach trees seem to be half dead. It has started throwing out leaves here and there, but is far from leafed out.
One of my nice cherry trees is totally dead from the branches up, but I notice it has started sending out shoots about 3 ft up the trunk.
How can I save these?
My plan is to prune back all the dead limbs once I know for sure what is dead and what is not. Then fertilize and water heavy all year.
Any other recommendations?
Hey xroads, good question – and since you’ve come up with ‘my only answer,’ I’ve little to add.

…other than one of my two Brown Turkey figs appears to be slowly recovering from the extreme cold we had.
