OK... now I know what "Saskatoon's" are They’re apparently native to Oregon as well as Canada, where most of the growing seems to be done. It also reads as if they'll easily grow from seed …so if you could get some fruit there'd be no need to order plants and mess with inspections, quarantines and customs...
The following is simply a nice photo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Sask ... erries.jpg
Here's a list with links to a multitude of growers; looks like endless possibilities for advice: http://www.albertafruit.com/farms/
Check here, there's an e-mail link for questions: http://www.saskatoonfarm.com/faq.html
Apparently this grower can't ship to the US due to customs regulations, but nothing about the UK.
In your hunt for Saskatoons in the UK did you search for serviceberry or juneberry? There are serviceberries growing wild in Washington and Oregon but I haven't taken a liking to them on the few occasions I've picked a berry to sample. Maybe I should try drying some.
