Over the last few years the numbers and types of bees in my neighborhood has declined dramatically. I used to be able to spot several varieties of bumblebees as well as some honey bees.
This year it's been hard to spot a bee of any kind on a regular basis. The tomatoes and peppers in my yard don't seem to be fruiting very well this year and I'm guessing the lack of bees has something to do with it.
So, my question is, does anybody rent hives to place in a residential neighborhood? I've got no desire to learn beekeeping. But I'd sure love to host some bees and I'm willing to pay a reasonable sum to make it happen. Does anybody know of such a service?
Thanks!
