Hello all!
I have a cherry tree at the house I moved into in December. I don't know its exact age but from what the landlords (who lived in the house for 4 years before beginning to rent a year or so ago...they are not into the whole backyard orchard thing so they have no info about what's planted and when it was put in) tell me it is fruiting (it was planted by a previous owner). It's ~16 feet tall.
Can anybody take a look at the pics (I've linked to my Webshots as I was unable to post an image) and let me know some guidelines for pruning? (I've seen the Post for pruning apple trees and I'll be looking to that when it comes time to tackle my apples but I thought I would start small )
I will definitely appreciate any tips! Thanks! Cg

You have a bad narrow crotch forming at the first branch junction. I'd cut one of the main leaders off at that point, after you pick the cherries in late july to early august.

My mom also love to prune cherries. I don't know how she do it but I really love the taste.
