Does anyone have experience with propagating rootstocks for grafting peach trees?
Nemaguard (and maybe Nemared) have been the most common peach root stock in Texas, but maybe the newer Guardian is moving in.
Apparently, these rootstocks are propagated by seed rather than by cuttings as for the clonal rootstocks for apples.
Who grows and sells the Peach rootstock seeds for hobby orchard grafters?
How does one obtain one of the so-called "Mother Trees" for growing the seeds?
Is there a useful reference that discusses information about propagating roots stocks for peach trees?
Thanks,
This might help you find what you are seeking. The second link specifically mentions nemaguard. I don't have any knowledge about peach seeds except that I know the resultant seedlings very often have good fruit.
