Peche de Vigne, "vine peach" or "mango melon" is a type of melon. I've grown it and only the size and general color resemble a peach. Otherwise it has rather solid, tasteless flesh that is mainly used for cooking. If you want something that tastes like a peach, this isn't it. You could probably find it in the Seed Savers Exchange.
Thanks for the info. Maybe we are not referring to the same fruit. The HOS posted some photos on flickr on http://www.flickr.com/photos/homeorchar ... hedevigne/
The fruit is reputed to be fantastic.
They are sometimes called blood peach becuase of the red flesh. In NZ they are called the black boy peach. But I cannot import any due to AQIS restrictions. Unfortunately the same restriction also applies to seeds, so I have to find someone who has it in Australia.
