Hi - My local garden store recommended I post here for advice on a pest/fungus/other issue afflicting the leaves on our backyard pear tree.  They were not familiar with what's shown in the photo below.  Anyone have ideas?  Thanks for the help!  Nick

I did a google image search for pear leaf gall and it suggested pear leaf gall mite;

the resulting images look very similar to the picture above.
