This is my pawpaw harvest.  It's not a lot, but the best so far for me.

It ironic because -

This is the first year that I didn't hand-pollinate them.

And both of my trees are from the rootstocks of the original varieties.  One scion died, and the other didn't produce anything this year.  So my crops were basically un-named seedlings that were intended to just be rootstocks.

My most productive pawpaws have generally been seedlings over the years.

2025, a little earlier by my memory, usually early-mid October, Wilson and Mango Pawpaw have been dropping for about a week+. I generally expect an early drop and then a lull of a few days before a steadily increasing offering, but it seems the pause was unexpectedly brief. Pawpaw ripening is fully on in NE Portland, Cully neighborhood.

Yes, I've been getting a lot this year. Also about a week or so.

I got my first few last year, and this year a much better bloom. So I thought I'd get a bunch, but only one held and its small 🙁

I've grafted a few more varieties so hopefully I'll get a better pollen overlap soon.

Paw Paws have gone mainstream.

Last night on PBS Newshour there was a lengthy segment about "America's native fruit that no one knows about".

Most of the news item was reported from Ohio at a Paw Paw festival.
