i come from NZ where the staple and very delicious plum is named george wilson. Its a very "meaty" japanese plum.
Searching the internet I can't find it in the USA easily.
Do any of you knowledgable folks know about this plum and whether you can find it here?
I love my methley and beauty japanese plums but if it grows here i'd love to graft it to me tree...

…if you’ve searched the net, that’s the best I can do… but let’s see if anyone else checks in. I’m happy to hear you love your “Methley!†I’ve several one-year grafts of it placed on my ‘Asian’ plums for pollination.
My favorite ‘meaty Asian’ plums are Burbank Red Ace and Ozark Premiere; both related (work of Luther Burbank) - thus won’t pollinate each other -- after a decade of flustered experience Anyway, the Methley is said to be distant enough, while blooming at the same time, to pollinate both.
…so if you can’t find a George Wilson, I bet you’d be pleased with either I’ve mentioned …I’m sure looking forward to bumper crops! I’ll take the Red Ace’s over my fresh figs – and the Ozark’s over a fresh peach – and that’s some mighty stiff competition
