I will be making a couple of presentations at this event in FOrest Grove.
One is on growing food through community connectons, and the other is connecting with the mainstream.

Please join us for the Sixth Annual Northwest Permaculture Convergence, the weekend of August 2, 3, 4 at Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon. 6 miles west of Hillsboro, which is just of Portland.
Here is the Convergence website - http://www.northwestpermaculture.org/
Great News! - The Convergence will be accessible by way of public transportation from Portland.
We anticipate all kinds of hands on workshops, classroom presentations, mix and mingling, open space, keynote and plenary sessions and fun! There will be exhibitions, prepared meals or bring your own, dorms or camping and visits to the B Street permaculture site a few blocks from campus.
There has never been a greater need for permaculture approaches to culture and economy and the Convergence will be a great opportunity to learn from others and share what you know about living more local and green.
Please join us!
Thanks John – it’s now on my calendar. …and since another hobby of mine is Birding, if anyone’s in ‘The Grove’ and looking for a nice place to eat lunch (bring your own food), I’d recommend checking out Fernhill Wetlands, on the south edge of town.
There have been some major improvements to the site (their former sewage lagoons) and though birding kinda slows up in mid summer, early moring or after it cools down, given the time - it’s worth a peek. http://audubonportland.org/local-birdin ... p/fernhill
I also look forward to visiting Pacific U’s B Street Permaculture Project. …nearly got hired there several years back… though a bit late finding their listing. Anyway, hope to see some of ‘our folks’ there: http://www.pacificu.edu/cce/bstreet/
I have been taking field trips there for years with my classes. It's pretty cool. I think some of it will be on the B Street Farm Site and some will be in a classroom. Mine will be in a classroom. Unfortunately, it the Saturday conflicts with the budding workshop/picnic, etc.
