Just got a flier from the Oregon Department of Agriculture that there is a new quarantine on hazlenut (Corylus species) coming into Oregon. There was one for years to keep out Eastern Filbert Blight (EFB) which was lifted when the disease spread pretty much everywhere. Now a new, more virulent strain has been found that would attack trees that are resistant to the old type EFB so once again there is a ban on any Corylus from out of state.
