I've never gotten an apple or pear scion that looked that way. I hope it is not some new to the U.S. threat.

I always clip off the end before I make the grafting cut, that's when I noticed.

I think that Nan Guo Li is a great variety.

 

I used aquarium cement to fight borers successfully. Look for the article in the Pome News soon.
