Hi Everyone,
As you probably have seen, the HOS forums have been under quite a few automated spam attacks. 
I have been investigating ways to stop it, and have finally found a spam filter modification for the forum software, which seems to work pretty well in my tests. I am working now to modify the software to install the filter.
So, for the time being, ALL new forum registrations have to be approved by me. Current members should have no problems posting. I'll try and approve any new registrations in 24 hours at the most.

OK, spam filter is installed, and admin approval has been turned off.
You will probably see some spam still being posted, as the filter is the trainable type which gets better over time. I'll be keeping a close watch on things, and hopefully we will not have to bother much with it soon.

So, the creeps posting garbage on our site are now attaching it to prior posts..?
I get an e-mail telling me a 'new message' has been posted on a thread I've contributed to, and find more ... crap... My only satisfaction is not opening, or going to any of their links. There's enough garbage online as is, I wonder who the sorry individuals are who feel the need to shovel it toward the Home Orchard Society. Is there a law againt this..?
