I watched this youtube from a NAFEX member praising this plum that goes in the trade as under stocks to plums. peaches and apricots. The 15 seconds of the video to pay attention to for some that have marianna 2624 under plums starts at 1:35 and goes to 1:50.
I have had mine flowering for 10+ years but because it never crops (according to other parts of this video) I'm looking for something highly related plum. He does have a masters in what he does so I'm buying into the notion that the southern 'hog plum' as a sub-family plum would be the reliable way to go. (the 2624 is partly derived from something similar to hog plum)
I also know he sells scions but can't find an email how to make a purchase or trade.
I also know Reinettes has (or once had) this plum so if you're still here and see this and having a Twitter or Face book account, is it possible for you to retrieve his email information for me?
For better or for worse most of us don't list emails on our profiles.
Anyways. My highest quality favorite in some years is 'lydecker' but not in every year. One reason I can't recommend it though, primarily, it's not well suited to the niche we live in. So kind of like the marianna 2624 plum --I patiently await some kind of miracle to happen with it
