Hello,

In the last couple of weeks I've collected quite a list of fruit tree scion in my area (Zone 5b). I have some antique apple varieties as well some plum, pear and grape. I'm looking for scion from Medlar, Quince, Russian Pomegranates and Jujube. If interested in trading shoot me an email and I'll send you my list. I'd post it here but its approaching 80 different varieties. I wish I could attend some of the scion exchanges on the west coast but I live 2000 miles away in WI. I hope to hear from you.

Thanks,
Little John

What the heck, post your list here!

I have medlar and quince. What do you think you will graft medlar to?

I can get my hands on plenty of Hawthorn whips. There are a bunch of them coming up at my friends house. Medlar grafts well on Hawthorn. If you have some scions to spare please let me know and email me directly.

Thanks,
Little John

Thank you Little John.

I din't see anything I could use.

But you should shoot me your details, using the email button by my profile button. I'll send you the quince and medlar anyway!

How much you need and what diameters are acceptable?

Oh, medlar to hawthorne is only a temporary graft. It soon outgrows the graft union (5 years +/-). But if you have buried the union there is a good chance it will put out medlar roots of its own and be okay.

And to my knowledge quince does not take on hawthorn. Quince rootstock would be ideal.

plumfun,

Thank you for your kind offer!! I emailed you yesterday through the link that you mentioned. Did you receive my email? Also, I have quince rootstock coming to me in a week or so. I ordered a bunch of different rootstocks last fall. Hope we can connect.

Thanks,
Little John
