Can anyone tell me about this rootstock? My local nursery where I've ordered all of my trees for the last 8 or 10 years is selling many of their stone fruits next year on Krymsk 1. I'd like to know the benefits and drawbacks of the stock if anyone's familiar with it and would also like to know if it's a dwarfing stock and how much it will dwarf a plum, apricot or sweet cherry.

Thanks.

Not sure if it is rated for cherries or apricots, but I've had an Obilnaja plum on Krymsk 1 for around 6 years. Seems to perform well. I think the plum tree is half the size it would be if on myro rootstocks. So far I have not noticed any problem with this stock.

Krymsk 5 is rated for cherries, and I am not sure how size-limiting it really is. My lone rootstock of that is pretty burly and vigorous.

Thanks plumfun, I'll be ordering my trees for 2011 soon and I'll chat with the nursery owner before I try Krymsk on the stone fruits. Hopefully some others will have personal experience with the rootstocks, particularly Krymsk 1.
